A mass recruitment campaign targeting to recruit over 2,000 ex-LTTE cadres, who are under going rehabilitation process, is now underway at the Menik Farm in Vavuniya.
The program is coordinated by Timex and Fergasam Group with the Ministry of Productivity and Development.
Over 11,000 ex-LTTE cadres surrendered to the Army during the final lapses of the end battle in May 29 and half of them including child soldiers have already reunited with their families after completion of rehabilitation process.
"We are going from house to house announcing the employment opportunities we have, the response so far has been good, once their employment is finalised, they will be transported to the designated workplaces accordingly" said Group Human Resources Development Manager of The Timex and Fergasam Group, Lasantha De Silva The event is being held as a prelude to a similar program that will be held on March 11 and 12 in affiliation with the Ministry.
