Disgraced Commonwealth Games boxer Manju wanniarachchi has been banned with immediate effect. The National Anti Doping Organization of Sri Lanka in accordance with the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) has imposed a provisional suspension on boxer Wanniarachchi, who won a gold medal at the last Commonwealth Games in India.
The ban prohibits Wanniarachchi from taking part in all boxing meets in Sri Lanka and overseas until the inquiry completed. Wanniarachchi won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi India last year but was stripped of the medal after he was tested positive for taking a banned drug.
