President signs book of condolence [March 19 2011]

President Mahinda Rajapaksa, expressing his condolence to the earth quake, tsunami and nuclear blast victims in Japan, has signed a book of condolence at the Japanese Embassy a short while ago.

The President, accompanied by External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris, also met with the Ambassador of Japan in Sri Lanka, Kunio Takahashi.

The Condolence Book was opened for the public today at the Embassy in Colombo to convey their condolences to the disaster-hit people in Japan.

President Rajapaksa had a half-hour discussion with the Ambassador about the present situation in tsunami hit Japan.
