Despite speculation and unofficial campaign to appoint Kurunegala District MP Dayasiri Jayasekera as the national organizer of the UNP, his name wasn’t proposed by any of the members at the party’s working committee meeting.
Although the UNP Working Committee meeting was called to elect office bearers for the coming year, the meeting was postponed without making any appointments.
The name of Moneragala district UNP MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara was proposed as the party’s National Organizer at today’s UNP Working Committee meeting by former MP Imthiaz Bakeer Markar and seconded by former MP Chandra Gankande. However, the meeting was called off before the appointment was made.
