Game should move on even after defeat - Sanga [April 03 2011]

Skipper Kumar Sangakkara believes that the game should move on even after the World Cup defeat as Sri Lanka look towards building up the momentum ahead of a grueling tour to England next month. The Lankan captain was of the opinion that they should look forward in a positive manner rather than regretting about the past.

Sangakkara stated that the disappointing performance in the World Cup final against India was just another off day for his team and the players need to soon recover and be prepared for the future assignments both physically and mentally.

The Sri Lankan captain was gracious in defeat but warned his teammates that they need to show more commitment and determination specially when playing in cup finals. “We have got into three finals and we have lost three finals. We need to lift ourselves a bit more, playing in finals is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we did not grab that opportunity."
