Mahela steps down as the VC

<p>The Vice Captain of the Sri Lankan Cricket team Mahela Jayawardena has handed over his regisnation today. 

<p>Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket Nishantha Ranatunga confirmed that Mahela had informed to in his letter about his regisnation.

<p>" Mahela had taken up the Vice Captaincy duty only till the end of the  World Cup. This morning, he handed in a letter stating that he did not like continuing as the Vice Captain of the team”, he said.

<p>The sources said that he had agreed to be the Vice Captain until the world cup.
