The Ministry of Education is to distribute four million plants among schools before the end of this school term to encourage children to grow trees in their home gardens during the season.
Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardhana has instructed the authorities to expedite distributing of plants among school children during this week to help them to start growing plants during their school holidays.
Distributing 8,000 plants among the children at the Royal College Colombo he said the objective of the program was to promote home gardening and agriculture among school children.
