India releases eight Lankan fishermen [April 12 2011]

Eight Sri Lankan fishermen, who were released from Indian custody, have arrived to Sri Lanka with the support of Sri Lanka Navy.

The Navy said they were brought to the Kankasanthurai harbor. The Indian Coast Guard Ship ICGS Vigrahat has handed over the fishermen and five fishing vessels to the naval officials at the Indo-Sri Lanka International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) in the seas north of Kankasanthurai.

Sri Lanka Naval Ship "Wickrema II" attached to the Northern Naval Command has escorted the fishermen sailing in their boats to the Kankasanthurai harbor this morning.
