Galle police have commenced investigations into the death of a Philippine seafarer, Salat Polete (44) inside a Liberian ship.
The 44 year old, a technical hand, had died on April 15 on board the ship 'Plant Catado' while it was sailing close to Sri Lanka, on a voyage from Malaysia to Iran. The Judicial Medical Officer of Karapitiya hospital has concluded the death was due to heart failure. Arrangements are being made to send the body to his relatives in Philippine. the Police said. JJ
