8,200Km of rural roads reconstructed spending Rs.13,500 million [April 25 2011]

The Government under the "Maga Neguma", the islandwide rural infrastructure development program has reconstructed over 8,200Km of rural roads at a cost of Rs.13,500 million during the period of January to September 2010.

In addition "Gama Neguma" program which is designed to empower rural sector population through the provision of drinking water, electricity and housing, has completed 11,918 projects at a cost of Rs.11 billion during the same period.
