The Fisheries Ministry has decided to establish cage farms in Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Hambantota,Negombo,Chilaw,Elephant Pass and Puttalam on the public private partnership basis.
Individual interest groups will be trained and form forward contracts with exporters. Producers will be insured with an insurance scheme to manage the risk of farming.
