Olympic silver medalist Susanthika Jayasinghe had lodged a complaint with the Police Women and Child’s Bureau over a family dispute, police source said. Subsequently her husband and former Sri Lanka athlete Dhammika Nandakumara Ranasighe was arrested and later released on personal bail of Rs. 50,000 and cash bail of Rs.5000.
The former coach of the celebrated athlete appeared before Horana Chief Magistrate Prasad Ranasinghe with his lawyer today. He was ordered to appear in Court on May 10 and also to refrain from entering the residence of the couple lived. .
Horana Chief Magistrate also directed nandakumara to present himself at the Bandaragama police station between 9am and 12 noon on the last Sunday of each month.
