Road mishap kills six [April 29 2011]

Six persons were drowned when the vehicle in which they were traveling fell into a river at the Koliya bridge in the Polonnaruwa area. Divers have recovered four bodies. The other two bodies are being searched. The vehicle was travelling along Habarana Batticaloa road when the mishap occurred.

The deceased are residents from Maradamuna. Their bodies are lying at the Polonnaruwa hospital. The driver who escaped is receiving treatment at the Polonnaruawa hospital.

Polonnaruwa police is investigating the fatal accident. JJ
