With the Sri Lanka Army releasing nine Grama Niladhari Divisions in Valikamam North in Jaffna, which is a part of Kankasanthurai (KKS) High Security Zone back to the owners a total of over 3,500 families have been resettled in their original homes the HSZs in Jaffna.
At a ceremoney to resettle 12,274 members from 3,511 families in Thelippalai Divisional Secretariat in the villages of Naguleshwaram, Thelippalai, Thanthaiselvapuram, Mavadipuram, Kadduwan West, Mavadipuram South and a part of Palai Vemankamam North and Palai Vemankamam South, the Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa said the land in the remaining areas in the HSZs would also be released to the owners soon.
