The prevailing dry weather conditions in areas in central hills has forced water levels of the Maussakele Reservoir and the Castlereagh Reservoir to drop by significant margins.
Water level of the Maussakele Reservoir has dropped from 50 feet to 29 while Castlereagh’s 60 feet water level has descended to 47. This has also gravely affected the power generation at Hydro Power Stations such as Lakshapana, Canyon and Wimalasurendra.
