Leadership training for undergraduates begins [May 23 2011]

Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake told the Observer Online that the leadership and positive thinking training to be provided to university students will began today on a successful note with around 90% attendance.

He added that approximately 90% of the students have now registered themselves at training centers. He said the UNP and JVP attempts to sabotage the program and affect higher education became a flop as parents of the students did not listen to extremist elements. 28 training camps have been set up in several areas including Colombo, Anuradhapura, Galle, Polonnaruwa and Minneriya in order to train the 10,000 students of which 5,931 are female.

The program which commenced today will continue for 21 days
