The most distinguish feature of the success of defeating LTTE terrorism was President Mahinda Rajapaksa's unshakeable commitment to defeat terrorists and bring honourable peace to the country, the Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa said a short while ago.
Delivering the key note address at the three day international seminar on Defeating terrorism Sri Lanka's Experience he said the President faced pressure from the West but stood firm until the end of defeating the LTTE.
He also said the President who chaired the security council directed to continue supplying of essential items including food and medicine to the Northern people who lived under the control of the terrorists. "Another key factor was managing international pressure by the country's top leadership," he said.
