Govt efforts helped win hearts and minds of Northern people [June 02 2011]

The new concept, the three R's-resettlement, reconstruction and reconciliation, introduced by the government immediately after the end of humanitarian operation, to rescue over 300000 people used as a human shield by the LTTE, helped to win the hearts and minds of the people in the north, a high ranking military officer said, today.

Brigadier H.A.N Hapuarachchi speaking at the army's international seminar in Colombo said the program became success due to high discipline of the soldiers and also their commitment toward the three R's in the post conflict era.
