Three passengers died and six got critically injured when a lorry travelling from Hambantota towards Tissamaharama ploughed in to a van parked on the road side, Police Media Spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody told the Sunday Observer on line Edition.
He said the injured passengers were admitted to the Hanbantota government hospital. The deceased persons were identified as Mohemed Jaufer, Sujith Kumara Ranasinghe, and H.K.G. Sunial Shantha, residents of Tissamaharama, Hambantota and Kirinda areas. The bodies are lying at the Hambantota mortuary. (JJ)
