Five bodies of those who had drowned after their boat capsized in the sea area close to the Kottai Kallaru Lagoon had recovered by the Kalavanchikudi Police. The accident took place at around 7.30pm on Friday.
A three-year-old baby was also died in the tragedy and the bodies have been handed over to the relatives following postmortem conducted at the Kalavanchikudi Hospital.
Six people have been rescued and later admitted to the hospital.
