<P>Son of UNP MP arrested

<P>Son of a leading UNP Parliamentarian has been arrested this morning for assaulting a police officer at the Colpetty junction, Police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody said.

<P>He said the car of the suspect had crashed into road construction site in Colpetty junction Police and the Police and Army personel at the check point had rescued some of the passengers.

<P>" One among those who came to the scene in a jeep had assaulted the driver of the car and later he had assulted a police constable who tried to resolved the argument. He claimed that he is the son of UNP Parliamentarian Lakshman Kiriella", he said.
