Nine Sri Lankans were arrested from a lodge in Kochi last night who were allegedly trying to travel illegally to another country, the Kochi police said.
Police said the suspects were being questioned but declined to divulge any other detail regarding their particulars.
In May last year, police had detained 39 Sri Lankans in Kollam in Kerala after they were found staying in a lodge without valid travel documents. Investigations revealed they had attempted to go to Australia with the help of a local travel agent. (PTI)
