Sri Lanka to attract 2.5 million high spending tourists

<P>The tourism industry as one of the fast emerging industries is expected to attract 2.5 million high spending tourists by 2016. 

<P>A tremendous growth is envisaged in the construction, furniture, transport and food and beverage industries in the country and the room capacity to accommodate a wide range of tourists including in wildlife, culture and business. The tourism sector alone is to generate 700,000 new employment opportunities by 2020.
