Senior DIG N.K. Illangakoon, who is now the Acting Inspector General of Police will be appointed as the IGP soon, Defence Ministry sources said.
The former IGP Mahinda Balasuriya resigned on June 1 over the incident took place in the Katunayake Free Trade Zone.
