More Tamil officers to the North

<p>Four Assistant Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the North have been upgraded as Divisional Secretariat Divisions with cabinet approval. The Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry sources said.

<p>Meanwhile 79 administrative assistants have been appointed to Government offices in the North. Moves are afoot to appoint translators and
administrative officers, the sources said.

<p>A competitive examination will also be held to 60 officers to work in  Tamil medium, the Ministry sources said.
