First aid training for N-E schools

<P>The Education Ministry has implemented a first aid training program in schools in the Northern and Eastern provinces.

<P>Seventy schools from 12 Education Zones in the Northern Province and 177 schools from 15 Education Zones in the Eastern Province have been  selected for this program, K. Nawaratnaraja, Coordinator, GIZ, Eastern Province  said.

<P>This training program will focus on how to escape and rescue others  during disasters such as thunder and lightning, landslides, floods, cyclones  and unexpected wild elephant attacks, Nawaratnaraja said.
