Kandurata by ten wickets July 23 2011

Kandurata Province bounced back into recognition with a smashing Ten-wicket victory over the Combined Province team in their SLC Inter Provincial Twenty20 cricket tournament match worked off at the R. Premadasa Stadium today.

The Combined Province team making their first appearance in the tournament managed to score only 61 for 8 from their restricted nine overs after bad weather had delayed the start by more than a hour. Former Sri Lanka ace spinner Muttiah Muralithatn who opened the bowling struck twice in his first over while Jehan Mubarak went on to return excellent figures of four wickets for seven runs from his two overs.

Kandurata Province then reached their target from 6.4 overs with former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara stroking an unbeaten 37 from 19 deliveries with the help of one six and five boundaries.
