A baby girl aged one year and ten months was run over and killed by a callous van driver when he reversed the vehicle at the Ananada Mawatha housing complex at Maradana Colombo 10. The girl who sustained grievous injuries was rushed to the Lady Ridgeway Children hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The deceased girl have been identified as Sathma Assad.
The van driver was taken into custody by the Maradana police. He was produced before courts and was granted bail.
