Six persons who attempted to sell fake gold in the form of bicycle ball bearings to people in the Hambantota area were arrested and handed over to Hambantota police by area residents. The suspects travelling in a van had one kilogram of ball bearings in their possession. They are residents of Galgamuwa, Wariyapola and Hakuruwela area.
The arrest was made at Katuwewa junction at Hamabantota. The suspects will be produced before the Hambantota Magistrate.
