President Mahinda Rajapaksa left for China for four days visit on an invitation extended by the President of China Hu Jintao, early this morning, the Director General of the President’s Media Division Bandula Jayasekera said.
According to Jayasekara during his non-state visit President Rajapaksa will attend the opening ceremony of the World University Games Universiade, the latest large- scale international sports event for China, to be held in Shenzhen and will have meetings with President Hu Jintao and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao in Beijing and Shenzhen.
President Rajapaksa will discuss various issues of by-lateral and unilateral interest with the Chinese dignitaries.
