150 rehabilitated ex-cadres go home tomorrow [August 11 2011]

Another batch of 150 ex-LTTE cadres, who have completed rehabilitation process, will be reunited with their families tomorrow. Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, said they will be handed over to their families at a function to be held in Vavuniya tomorrow.

Over 11,668 LTTE cadres surrendered to the military during the final months of the end battle in 2009 and they were directed to rehabilitation in state run centres in the North.

Maj. Gen. Ranasinghe said they were given vocational training on various fields enable them to find employment after they are released.
