Police probe disappearance of infant baby boy [August 13 2011]

The Pugoda police on a tip off began an investigation into the disappearance of a male infant named Sendara Lakshan aged one and a half years who was brought to the Horawala village by his mother and her paramour.

When police questioned the mother, she told them that the infant had died while at her paramours house. She further said the infant’s body was brought to Horawala where she buried it on the banks of the Horawala canal with the help of her paramour. Pugoda police have arrested the infants mother and her paramour.

Police will make an application to the Pugoda Magistrate to issue an order to exhume the infant’s body for a post mortem examination.
