Puttalam remain calm after high drama [August 22 2011]

Puttalam remained calm as the Security Forces took control and restored law and order after Sunday’s unruly incidents. The Army, along with the Police STF took control of the area to assist Puttlam Police to restore law and order.

Soldiers were stationed in the city to avoid any further incidents after violent clashes that erupted last killed a Police constable. All police officers in the area have been called in to remain inside their stations as Army and the STF guarded main stations in the district.
