The train accident has killed one person and injured over 20 when three trains collided at Alawwa. The Police said the injured have been admitted to Alawwa Hospital and the seriously injured are being transferred to the Kurunegala Hospital.
Sri Lanka Railways sources said the accident took place after a train crashed into the back of another which was in turn pushing along the broken-down Kandy-Colombo train.
