CID to probe baby farm racket [November 24 2011]

The racket, where small children were being sold to foriegners, operating in Moratuwa was handed over to the CID today for further investigations.

The raid carried out by the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) revealed about a racket operated in a state registered children’s home. According to NCPA sources there were only 42 children whom were registered but there were 63 children at the home at the time of the raid.

Following a request by the NCPA Chairman Anoma Dissanayake, the Inspector General of Police has directed the CID to investigate the matter.
