UNP to hold secret ballot [December 07 2011]

The United National Party (UNP) will decide to have a secret ballot to select a new party leadership following the decision of the Working Committee and the Parliamentary Group, the party spokesman MP Gayantha Karunatilake said.

He said if there were more than one contestants for the post of party leader, the decision would be referred to the working committee and the Parliamentary Group to hold a secret vote.

However, the party reformists demand for a secret ballot to select a new party leader.
