Lankan Army officer’s bag stolen on Indian train [February 16 2012]

A Sri Lankan army officer’s bag containing cash, passport and other valuables was stolen from the Malwa Express soon after it left the New Delhi railway station on February 13. The Sri Lankan army officer, identified as Major DK Kaluadeva, son of KD Dharmasena, came to Indore on his way to Mhow to take part in a camp.

Police said that the army officer in his complaint stated that he found his bag containing his passport, ATM cards, Rs 4,000 Indian currency and Rs 5,000 of Sri Lankan currency besides other valuables missing soon after the Malwa Express left New Delhi railway station in the evening. He was travelling in the first AC compartment. He reached here on Tuesday and lodged the complaint with the Indore Government Railway Police on Wednesday. The case was registered and it would be transferred to Delhi for investigation. -TimesOfIndia
