Intl philatelic exhibition in Sri Lanka

<p>The Postal Services Ministry plans to hold an international philatelic exhibition in Sri Lanka, Janaka Mallimarachchi, Coordinating Secretary to the Minister said. 

<p>A Philatelic Secretariat will also be set up for this purpose, according to Mallimarachchi. 

<p>A program to set up philatelic societies with the intention of motivating school-children towards philately has been inaugurated by the Ministry on the directive of Minister Jeewan Kumaratunga.  

<p>Under the first phase of this program, philatelic societies have been set up in Colombo district. It will be expanded to other districts shortly, according to Mallimarachchi. 

<p>He said that with a view to motivate schoolchildren, philatelic exhibitions will be conducted in the Western province.
