Salvation Army’s chief in Sri Lanka [February 02 2013]

The world leader of the Salvation Army Gen. Linda Bond is in Sri Lanka as the guest of honour for the 130th anniversary celebration of Sri Lanka Salvation Army.

The work of the Salvation Army which began in Sri Lanka in the year 1883 has since then made a tremendous impact upon the people of this land, well-known for its social and spiritual ministry.

General Linda Bond was elected the 19th General of the Salvation Army in January 2011, succeeding General Shaw Clifton as the International leader.

General Bond holds a bachelor’s degree in religious education and a master’s in theological studies.

Through a period of many years, she lectured regularly at The Salvation Army’s International College for Officers and also effectively engaged her intellect and spiritual passion as a member of the Spiritual Life Commission.

The General’s ministry is now broadened to encompass the global mission objectives of The Salvation Army. General Bond is committed to seek the guidance of God in her leadership and to follow his direction.
