<P>Customs seize illegal abortion drugs

<P>A large stock of illegal drugs used for abortion that had been attempted to smuggle into the country was recovered by the Customs Revenue Task Force last night.  

<P>The contraband hidden inside a consignment of potatoes had been imported from Pakistan in a container was detected at Colombo Harbour. The Customs RTF officials on suspicion searched the container and found the illegal drugs.  

<P>Customs Spokesman Deputy Director Leslie Gamini told the Sunday Observer that the container had been sealed off for further investigations and the value of the drugs are yet to be ascertained.
