STF seize a large stock of refuse tea

Police Special Task Force in a raid seized a large stock of refuse tea weighing over 32, 000 kilograms in a warehouse in Wellampitiya last night.The STF on a tip off raided the warehouse located in Megoda Kolonnawa area on Awissawella Road and recovered the stock of tea which is unsuitable for human consumption. 

<P>A person who was in charge of the contraband was also taken into custody.The stock of tea had been handed over to the CID for further investigations after being inspected by the officials of Tea Research Institute.
