27 Tamil refugees return to Sri Lanka [May 08 2013]

27 Tamil refugees who fled the country during the final stages of the fourth Eelam war had voluntarily returned from India this morning.

The group comprising eight families from Mannar, Jaffna, Mullaithivu and Trincomalee were received by the UNHCR representatives at the Bandaranaike International Airport. The group had come on UL132, airport immigration sources said.

14 males, 13 females and several children aged two to five years were among the group that had reportedly lived in a refugee camp in Tiruchi. K.K.
