A person accused of cheating money out of several individuals after promising them jobs in Kuala Lumpur was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake. He was arrested by officers of the Immigration and Emigration Department upon arriving in the country this morning from Malaysia.
Immigration and Emigration Controller Chulananda Perera said that the suspect, a resident of Kurunegala, was arrested after the Mirihana Special Investigations Unit had informed the Immigration and Emigration Department on the complaints against him. The suspect had reportedly left the country for Malaysia in January and had engaged in the fraudulent job racket with the help of another person.
