World Champion and Olympic Gold medalist Sally Pearson failed to make her presence felt as Australias 4 x 100m relay team painted a poor picture at the third leg of the Asian Grand Prix at the Sugatadasa Stadium today.

The Australian womens 4x100 metres relay team, spearheaded by 100 metres hurdles World Champion and Olympic Gold medalist Sally Pearson, was off colour with the star athlete Pearson became an unfortunate victim of a false baton change before her anchor lap.

Earlier during the second baton change, Australians B team dropped the baton to be disqualified. The Aussie women were looking to better their timing at the Colombo

leg of the Asian Grand Prix to qualify for the IAAF World Championships in Moscow in August.

Thailand won the gold in womens 4 x 100m relay in 45.33 seconds with China (45.42 seconds) and Sri Lanka (46.21 seconds) finishing second and third respectively.
