Sailor missing after navy boat capsized in Victory Parade [May 18 2013]

A sailor went missing and two others were hospitalised when a Navy boat capsized during the Victory Day Parade this morning.

Three sailors who were on board on an Arrow Craft were thrown overboard when the boat capsized during the parade.

Two of them were rescued and rushed to National Hospital Colombo. They were admitted to Emergency Treatment Unit and their condition is known to be not serious, hospital sources said.

Navy Spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said the Navy is currently engaged in salvaging the 17 foot boat.
