Two people were drowned while bathing in the Mahaweli River near Kandakaduwa in Aralaganwila last evening.
The victims aged 12 and 18, were in a group of pilgrims from the Poojapitiya and Werellagama area in Katugastota. One of bodies had been recovered and a search was continuing to recover the missing person.
