One person was killed when he was struck by a train at an unprotected level crossing in the Uruwela area in Kosgama.
The Police said that a train traveling from Colombo to Avissawella had knocked the person, a 40-year-old resident of the lower Kosgama area.
The body was handed over to the Avissawella hospital. Kosgama police are conducting further investigations.
