Husband kills wife before kids A person accused of killing his wife before his four children was admitted to the Kahawatte Hospital due to burn injuries he had sustained on his feet, and is under police custody.
The suspect had killed his 32-year-old wife - Jeyaram Pushparani of Horamulla Estate, Rakwana, by pouring kerosene on her body before setting her on fire. He had killed his wife on suspicion that she was having an illicit affair with another man.
The suspect had killed his wife in the presence of their four children - three sons, and a daughter, all under seven years of age. Police had also recorded statements from the children with one child saying that his father poured kerosene on his mother.
