Trinity beat Royal by 37 points (five tries, three penalties and one drop goal) to 25 (two goals, one try and two penalties) in the first leg of the 69th Bradby Shield rugby encounter played at Pallakele Stadium, Kandy today.
Royal lead 18-8 at half time but Trinity fought back and ran down four tries in the second half to travel to Colombo in two weeks time with a handsome lead of 12 points. Second leg will be played at Royal Rugby Stadium, Colombo on June 15.
