Clean Energy villages to be established [June 04 2013]

The Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) is to introduce the ‘Clean Energy Village’ concept to promote the use of renewable energy in Sri Lanka.

The first Clean Energy Village will be established on June 09 by integrating six villages adjoining the Sinharaja Rain Forest. The selected villages would be assisted to generate power using available renewable energy sources in their locality. According to the SEA 400 families would benefit by this move.
